The Paper Import Monitoring System (PIMS) is a mandatory online registration system introduced by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Government of India. It is designed to monitor the import of paper products into India.
Under PIMS, importers must register their import details on the DGFT portal before shipment arrival to obtain a PIMS Registration Number, which is required for customs clearance.
