  1. Visit DGFT Portal and log in using IEC-based credentials
  2. Go to Services → Steel Import Monitoring System (SIMS)
  3. Select Apply for SIMS Registration
  4. Fill in importer details and product information
  5. Confirm HS code and description
  6. Pay the government fee of ₹1 per metric tonne
    • Minimum Fee: ₹500
    • Maximum Fee: ₹1,00,000
  7. After successful payment, the system automatically issues the SIMS Registration Number (ARN)
  8. Mention this ARN in your Bill of EntryValidity of SIMS Certificate
    • SIMS registration number is valid for 75 days
    • A new registration is required for every new consignment or shipment
